I have owned Croft equipment since my teens when I purchased a Micro to use as a pre into the original Nad 3020. I admire the fact that the tone of all his hand-built products is extremely natural while rhythm and timing are spot on. Over the years I kept coming back to his range having compared many competitors products and found them all lacking. The output transformerless designs were accurate yet emotionally involving in a way nothing could match! The hybrid power amps from the Twinstar to the present Series 7 range are designed similarly to the output transformerless circuits and share many of its benefits. Glenn`s genius lies in his ability to simplify a circuit to a point where transparency comes to the fore leaving other designers baffled. His workmanship is superb. I am therefore proud to be associated with Croft Acoustics. Below is a summary of the product range – you can also see Croft’s products and prices listed amongst our other brands from the respective menu tabs along the top of the page.

Micro 25 pre-amps and Series 7 amplifiers
Three Pre-amps
There are three pre-amplifiers in the current range, the Croft Micro 25 basic, the Croft Micro 25 and the Micro 25 R. They all have separate volume controls for left and right channels and a mute switch. The `R` stands for regulation and gives more control across the whole frequency spectrum; bass is more controlled and cymbals shimmer in space. These models commemorate the relaunch of Croft Acoustics and 25 years since the original Croft Micro giant killers. The original ethos is back with high performance products at a sensible price. Cosmetically they will be similar to each other; Croft do not believe in fancy extrusions which waste world resources and make Hi-Fi akin to jewellery. Instead the differences will be down to circuitry and component choice. N.B. the circuitry has evolved; these are not the old Micro rehashed into a new case; they are very quick on their feet and focussed. These new pre-amps employ a type of hybrid design with an SSD doing the job of the usual cathode follower valve. Glenn says that “hybrid” is not really a correct description as the Mosfet is not directly in the signal path.
Prices are set at £350, £700 and £1400 respectively.
Two Power amps
The power amps are the new Croft Series 7 and Series 7 R. (Again `R` means regulated.) These are designed to work with the Micro 25 pre-amps and compliment each other very well. The Series 7 are hybrid in design using simplified and improved circuits over the previous Croft Polestar range of amplifiers. Again these amplifiers will be cosmetically identical, but with very different configurations inside the casework. Prices are £700 for the Series 7 and £1400 for the Series 7 “R”.
One Phono Stage
The RIAA phono stage is MM using 3 valves.
Priced at £500.
