The AX range is designed as a general purpose small loudspeaker and will work well with almost any amplifier. Heavy loudspeaker stands should be used. We suggest the same stands as are used for the AN-K model speakers. We offer the same finishes as AZ range, packed as 1 pair per box with front grills.

The Skiff, like other of Role Audio loudspeakers, is designed to deliver large scale loudspeaker performance in the smallest possible design.

The skiff represents the holy grail in loudspeaker design. It uses a single full range driver which means it is a true point source, it is perfectly time coherent, minimum phase, and has no phase or driver integration problems. The Skiff is simply one of the most accurate loudspeaker you can find at any price.

The Skiff is designed to play solo or with a subwoofer. Although it measures only 6 inches high by 4 inches wide by 5 inches deep, the Skiff can fill most rooms with large scale, accurate, full range, non-fatiguing music with surprising bass response. While its bass roll-off pattern allows seamless integration with large subwoofers.

It is small and beautiful enough to place almost anywhere. And it is fully magnetically shielded so it may be placed near to CRTs. It may be used as a small center channel speaker, or the best sounding small surround speakers. You can play loudly of softly. Either way, it will out-class the competition.

Its accuracy and imaging allow it to thoroughly unravel a recording.

The Skiff is available in beautiful red birch plywood, satin black, or warm white lacquer cabinets, all with rounded edges, topped-off with Superior’s five-way binding posts and a retainer for Omnimount 10.0 series brackets.

The C-4 is a centre channel speaker which has two 4-inch treated paper bass drivers complementing a 1-inch pure silk dome tweeter.

The insistence on using only the finest hand-made parts ensures a no-compromise build and sound quality giving exemplary behaviour even from such a slim speaker design.

The two 4 inch drivers, made under strict specification, are special treated paper units enabling exceptionally fast transient response while reflecting the naturalness of the music played. The Tweeter is a pure silk dome that reproduces clean high frequencies even at high volume levels as a result of the unusual design of the new double magnet motor.

The veneered Cabinet is made using the Speaker-Resonator™ technology. It is made with an internal 1mm thick real mahogany veneer to increase the general structural rigidity. The wall thicknesses are different and treated like a “violin” resonator allowing the music to ‘breathe’ through the speakers.

The Kayak, like other of Role Audio loudspeakers, is designed to deliver the performance of large loudspeakers in the smallest possible design. It is so accurate that it sonically disappears at a distance of less than two feet from the listener.

Although it measures only 5.5 inches wide by 8 inches high by 6.5 inches deep the Kayak will fill any moderately sized room with accurate, full range, non-fatiguing music. It is small and beautiful enough to place almost anywhere. And it is fully magnetically shielded so it may be placed near to CRTs. You can play loudly of softly. Either way, it will out-class the competition.

When it comes to construction, the Kayak is as high-end as it gets: From its immaculately finished acoustic suspension cabinets, which are constructed in-house for the highest quality control, to its transducers and crossover components, no cost is spared. It uses one of the finest soft dome tweeters available which is mated to an extraordinarily accurate woven carbon fiber cone woofer.

Inside, the Kayak has design features which are unprecedented for a speaker at its price point: film foil capacitor, metal oxide resistor, laminated perfect lay coil, DH Labs silver plated copper wire to the tweeter, and oxygen free multi-strand copper wire to the woofer. Then we outfit the Kayak with the Superior (TM) five-way binding posts, some of the finest in the industry. Little wonder that in a short time the Kayak has become a reference in the industry!

Being horn-loaded the AZ speakers benefit greatly from being placed near a rear wall or in a corner, this enhances bass performance considerably, adding a further 3 – 6 dB of bass below natural cut-off.

Whilst the AZ range is designed for use with the Audio Note™ Zero Level electronics, the AZ range is very versatile and performs well with most small transistor amplifiers as well as with higher levels of Audio Note™ amplification.

The Discovery uses two of the woofers used in the Kayak in an MTM arrangement and the same alignment of the tweeter to woofer as the Kayak to deliver twice the output of the Kayak in a versatile 5.5 wide by 12 high by 6.5 deep (vertical), or 12 inch wide by 5.5 inch high by 6.5 inch deep (horizontal) package that makes it well suited for use as a powerful small bookshelf speaker or as a high quality center channel speaker.

No subwoofer necessary!

The Sampan FTL images better on a bookshelf than most small loudspeakers image on stands out in the room. Place it on stands out in the room and there is no contest. And while most small speakers struggle to reproduce 80 cycle bass, the Sampan FTL is engineered to play 40 cycle bass with ease. The Sampan is an innovative time coherent, minimum phase, point source, transmission line, design. It uses a single driver to cover the audible sound spectrum. The Sampan’s full-range, single driver design eliminates the problems of conventional loudspeakers which introduce distortion in the reproduction of music. And its dimensions are an amazing 4 inches wide by 4 inches deep by 37 inches high.

Measuring only 5 inches wide by 39 inches high ( with spikes attached) by 6.5 inches deep, the Windjammer is a potent loudspeaker that is designed to play in small to moderate sized rooms. Its frequency response is 35Hz to 20kHz.

One listen to the Windjammer and you will hear performance that is hard to beat at any price. “they “image like lasers.” They looked very attractive like that — not only did my wife not complain, she asked that they not leave..” In my opinion, one of the best “sound and style” loudspeakers on the planet today is Mirage’s Omnisat v2 FS,… the v2 FS’s bass is decent and well controlled but doesn’t go all that deep — it has me itching to use a sub. The Windjammer, on the other hand, is not lightweight down low, … it’s quite fleshed out for a “sound and style” speaker The v2 FS is an Omnipolar design, meaning that it radiates its sound through 360 degrees. This results in a sprawling soundstage that’s even more spacious than the Windjammers’, but not as well-defined. I could never say of the Mirages — as I do of the Roles — that they “image like lasers.” Furthermore, because of the way Mirage speakers “spray out” their sound, you don’t want to place them close to walls —  The front-firing Windjammer, on the other hand, seems to sound best when placed close to the wall behind it (at least in my room).

The AN-K is a bookshelf-sized loudspeaker capable of a bandwidth from 50 Hz to 20 Hz (-6 dB) with an efficiency of around 90 dB/m.

Careful pair matching, first by drive unit selection, secondly by pairing drive units with suitable characteristics to each other, and then finally by individually adjusting each speaker’s curve, under dynamic conditions to a master curve.

The AN-K cabinet is made from materials that compliment the workings of the chosen drive units, where we, instead of trying to damp the resonances in the cabinet, place them in frequency bands where they aid and enhance the drive unit’s work. This novel and quite difficult method helps to ensure maximum efficiency and dynamic behaviour.

The A-6 is a 2 and a half way design with two 5-inch treated paper bass/midrange units complementing a 1-inch pure silk dome tweeter.

The AN-J models offer higher sensitivity and better bass performance, combined with a more dynamic presentation than the AN-K, in an enclosure that is about three times the volume.

The AN-J is a ported enclosure with an efficiency better than 93 dB/m and bass that goes down to 25 Hz at -6 dB. The AN-J is capable of reproducing the scale and intensity of most well-recorded music very realistically.

Like all our other loudspeakers, the AN-J undergoes the same painstaking driver selection and matching process, which ensures the closest tolerances within a pair in the entire audio industry.

The AN-E must be the most efficient wide band speaker of moderate size on the market, with an effective bandwidth from 18 Hz to 23 kHz at -6 dB, efficiency better than 95 dB/m and a dynamic headroom above 108 dB. The extremely high efficiency is retained well over the bandwidth, and makes the AN-E very suited to the high quality, low-power triode amplifiers that will form the future of music reproduction, once our obsession with power and specifications is generally recognized as folly.

The AN-E is a two-way, ported enclosure, with a carefully designed cabinet which is shaped to enhance and aid driver dispersion on the one hand, and bass output on the other. The cabinet is lightly braced and little internal damping is used. The cabinet is designed in such a way that it augments and supports the drivers in their task, not unlike the box of a guitar. The drivers are selected and paired before they are matched to the crossover in the same process as the AN-K and AN-J.
